This course provides you with the theoretical knowledge and the practical skill that you require to dive anywhere in the world.

Your professional instructor will help you through the learning process. Each new skill gets you closer to the day you board our boat for a live aboard dive trip. You open water dive course is split up into three sections:

• THEORY gives you the knowledge required to dive in open water conditions. This takes on the form of classroom presentations and lectures by your instructor in the comfort of our new air-conditioned classrooms.
• CONFINED WATER TRAINING takes place in our gas heated pool at our state of the art diver training centre, during which time you will master the skills of diving.
• OPEN WATER DIVES will be conducted from the safety of the Kangaroo Explorer – our modern live aboard vessel.

At Cairns Dive Centre, the emphasis is on increased training in actual dive conditions. The basis of our training concept is through practice of scuba skills in the controlled environment of our DIVER TRAINING CENTRE. These skills, combined with the understanding of safe diving practices and theory, prepare you for the ultimate Great Barrier Reef experience.

Requirements

• Dive medical (Australian Standards AS4005.1)
• 2 passport-sized photos for your certification card

Rates are per person ex-Cairns and valid 01 Apr 2010 to 31 Mar 2011. Fuel, Reef & Port charges $ 15.00 per day at sea payable on board.
